Danielle’s op-ed on our need to have an active trust in government

Danielle identifies the nations faithfulness in the governments response to Covid-19, but from here where do we go? She highlights New Zealand’s need to practice an active trust over a passive acceptance towards future events.

Read her article here:

People need ‘active trust, not blind faith’ in Covid-19 measures

“Recent Colmar Brunton polling not only shows that New Zealanders support of the Government’s measures in response to Covid-19 “far outstrips the response in any of the G7 nations”, it also found that 87 per cent “trust the Government to make the right decisions on Covid-19”.

This is in comparison to an average of 50 per cent in other G7 countries. In fact, even the prime minister has said she found the compliance of New Zealanders to be “astounding”.”
