Nicola Taylor
Nicola brings strong legal skills and years of experience in policy and governance to her role as Chair of the Maxim Institute Board. Beginning her career as a corporate solicitor at Russell McVeagh, Nicola completed her Masters in Law while working as Policy Manager at Maxim Institute, before starting a family with her husband Joshua. Elected twice to the Mt Roskill Community Board, Nicola now sits in governance roles for a wide range of organisations and, together with Joshua, owns a successful tax trading company.

Campbell Batts
Campbell has over twenty years’ experience in business and leadership. Currently the owner and Managing Director of Spiraweld, an Auckland manufacturing company his previous roles include managing directorships of several New Zealand retail and importing businesses. With long experience in finance roles for non-profit organisations, Campbell is also involved with a number of community groups in a voluntary capacity.

Roseanne Hay
Roseanne is a chartered accountant, with strong HR and management experience. She served as Chair of the Board of Trustees at a low decile school for over ten years, and saw the difference an excellent education can make in people’s lives. Roseanne works in her family business in the construction sector, serves in various volunteer roles, and offers many years of governance experience in the not-for-profit sector.

Lindsay Faris
Lindsay is a communications specialist, with experience in government relations, public policy, strategic communications and stakeholder management. With a growing interest in the role and importance of quality online engagement, she is currently working for a social media and digital content marketing agency in Tauranga. She is a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand with an LLB from Otago University. Her previous roles include working in public policy in Washington DC, and six years in government relations for the Bank of New Zealand.

Larne Edmeades
Beginning his career as an educator at Auckland Grammar School, Larne was appointed Principal of ACG New Zealand International College from 2001 until 2005, when he led the establishment of ACG Parnell College as its foundation Principal. In 2015, he was named Executive Principal of the ACG New Zealand Domestic Schools, and today continues with ACG as an Academic Consultant. Beyond his work in education, Larne serves several community organisations, including board level roles with The Parenting Place and Carey Baptist College.

John Hitchen
A senior lecturer at Laidlaw College in Auckland, John has extensive experience in education and leadership development, with a particular interest in developing nations. His PhD from University of Aberdeen, Scotland, focussed on the role of Christianity in Pacific development in the nineteenth Century. John served as Dean and Principal of Christian Leaders’ Training College in Papua New Guinea, 1965-1979, and as National Principal of Laidlaw College from 1990 – 1998.
