HOW TO LEAVE A GIFT IN YOUR WILL

There are a number of different ways to remember us in your will, depending on your circumstances:

  • Residuary gift: a gift that allows you to leave Maxim Institute a percentage of your estate after considering your loved ones.
  • Pecuniary gift: a gift that allows you to leave a specific amount of money to Maxim Institute.
  • Specific bequest: a gift left to Maxim Institute which can be things like money, property, or stocks and shares.

UPDATING YOUR WILL

After taking care of your loved ones you might decide to leave a gift to Maxim Institute when you make your will.

When writing or updating your will, you should consult with your lawyer and ask for appropriate clauses to be inserted into your will that accurately describe your desires. We have set out some sample wording below, which may be useful to your lawyer.

“I give Maxim Institute CC24446 (% of my estate/the residue of my estate/a sum of money/my property or other assets) for general purposes, for which the receipt of an authorised officer of Maxim Institute shall be full and sufficient discharge to my trustees.”
