The Summer and Semester Internship Programmes are designed to extend young leaders' thinking, nurture strong character and hone their professional and interpersonal skills. Interns are selected for their proven leadership ability, strong intellect and character and their desire to be involved in influential positions of leadership in the future.

Through the internship programmes, Maxim Institute aims to build these young people's confidence in their skills and interpersonal abilities. We also work with them to help them identify goals and map out a pathway to reach those goals, so that interns leave the programme with a clear direction and the determination and courage to pursue their goals. The internship programme also provides them with a clearer understanding of some of the challenges and pressures that leaders face and of the fundamental importance of character in meeting those challenges with integrity.

Past interns have gone on to careers in a broad range of disciplines including law, media, politics, arts and science. Some are active in student politics, some write for student and local newspapers, and others have travelled overseas to continue their study or undertake community work.
